Porcelain Paving
Common questions about our 20mm outdoor porcelain paving, answered in one place.
No. Unlike natural stone, porcelain needs no sealing. We do recommend a porcelain primer (slurry) on the back of each tile during installation so it bonds properly with the mortar bed.
Yes. Vitrified porcelain has very low water absorption, under 0.5% on ranges such as County LGY, so water cannot get into the slab to freeze and crack it through a UK winter.
Because water does not soak into the surface, porcelain resists algae, moss, mould and water stains far better than natural stone, and usually only needs a wash down to stay clean.
Our outdoor porcelain paving has an R11 anti-slip matt surface, which gives good grip in wet weather on patios, paths and terraces.
Every range is 20mm thick. Most are 600x900mm slabs; Rusty Stone comes as 200x200mm tumbled pavers. Each product page lists the exact sizes and what is in UK stock now.

Porcelain is uniform, low-maintenance and needs no sealing; sandstone has natural variation and character but needs sealing and more care. Our Porcelain vs Sandstone guide compares cost, slip, frost and upkeep side by side.
