What are Mint Sandstone Bullnose Steps?
These step treads feature a smooth, rounded "bullnose" front edge that offers a safe, classic finish for staircases and wall copings. Unlike standard riven slabs, these steps are "sawn and honed," meaning the surface has been machine-cut and ground to a beautifully smooth, contemporary finish. Furthermore, by utilizing our specifically cut matching corner pieces, an entire flight of steps can be constructed to read visually as one continuous, flowing piece of stone.

What is a bullnose edge?
A bullnose edge means the leading front edge of the stone has been machined into a smooth, semi-circular curve. This removes sharp corners, making it safer for steps and providing a highly refined, premium look.
Why do I need matching corner pieces?
If your staircase turns a corner or has an exposed side, standard straight treads will leave an unsightly un-finished edge exposed. Our 400x400mm corner pieces have the bullnose curve on adjacent sides, allowing the steps to wrap around beautifully so the entire flight reads as one continuous stone.
