Your data, and what we do with it
This policy covers snksurfaces.co.uk. Our sister site, snksurfaces.com, is operated separately and has its own privacy policy.

What we collect, and why
We only collect what a given feature actually needs to work. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.
Trade account registration
Username, company name, contact name, email address, phone number, and any notes you add. Your password is never stored in readable form; we only store a salted cryptographic hash of it.
Order and sample requests
Name, company, delivery address, email, phone number, and the product details of your request. This is sent to our team to prepare a quote or confirm an order. No payment is taken through this site.
Newsletter sign-up
Email address only, and the page you subscribed from.
Contact form
Name, email, phone number (if given), and your message.
Automatically, from your visit
Aggregate, non-identifying analytics (pages viewed, load performance) via a privacy-focused analytics tool, and the strictly necessary cookies described in our Cookie Policy.
Our legal basis for processing
Trade account and order data: performance of a contract with you, or steps you asked us to take before entering one (a quote or order request). Newsletter emails: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Contact form messages: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries you send us.
How long we keep it
We keep trade account and order records for 7 years after the account closes or your last order, whichever is later, in line with UK accounting and tax record-keeping requirements. Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to resolve the enquiry.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent personal data. It is shared only with the processors that run this website and our email delivery, each bound to only use it on our instructions:
- Our hosting provider: Hosts this website and its analytics.
- MongoDB: Hosts the database that stores account, request and newsletter records.
- Resend: Delivers the transactional emails this site sends (order notifications, newsletter confirmations).

Security
Passwords are never stored in readable form. We only keep a salted cryptographic hash. Login sessions are carried in a cookie marked HttpOnly and Secure, which JavaScript on the page cannot read. All traffic to this site is encrypted (HTTPS).
